Player Code of Conduct

 

As a player at North Ringwood Seniors and Veterans Cricket Club, each player agrees to:

On-Field
  • Play by the rules of cricket, within the ‘Spirit of the Game’, and be a good sport
  • Give their best at all times
  • Treat all players, as they would like to be treated. Do not bully, interfere with or take unfair advantage of another player.
  • Cooperate with your coach, teammates AND opponents. Without them, there would be no competition.
  • Control your temper and don’t abuse or argue with either officials, umpires or other players.
  • Avoid the use of derogatory language based on gender, race or ability.
  • Treat all equipment, whether it belongs to our club, another club, or a player with care and respect. Do not take another’s equipment without permission.
  • Attend matches for which you are selected. If an absence is planned, team captains are to be informed by the training session prior to the first day of a match if the player cannot attend one or both days of play.
  • Behave in a manner that reflects positively on the game of cricket, the North Ringwood Cricket Club, and the Ringwood and District Cricket Association
  • No alcohol shall be consumed by players or match officials during the hours of play.
  • Wear up to date player attire in line with clubs sponsorships agreements

Off-Field

  • Behave in a manner that reflects positively on the North Ringwood Cricket Club when wearing club attire, representing the club at functions and at pre-season and end of season trips.
  • Speak and treat other members and opposition members with respect.
  • Verbal or physical abuse directed towards other members of the club or members of the public whilst wearing club attire, representing the club at functions or pre-season and end of season trips will not be tolerated.
  • Verbal or physical abuse directed towards other members of the club on the clubs premises will not be tolerated.
  • Damage to club property and its facilities inlcuding vandalism and graphitti will not be tolerated.
  • Possession and use of illicit and recreational drugs on the clubs premises is strictly prohibited and immediate expulsion from the club will be enforced.
 


Each player will receive two warnings if found to be in breach of the Code of Conduct

The third warning will result in a club suspension

Subsequent warnings will be dealt with at the discretion of the Senior Committee
